The High Country in Northern New Mexico has returned to life. After a record snowfall year the creeks are full and the lakes are rising. This time of year it’s always a pleasure to see cattle back in the high country with new born calves. Elk and Deer have also made a return. The Turkey season just ended and unfortunately I never found myself in the right place at the right time, however, my youngest son and I saw a beautiful Black Bear, Deer, Elk and several Porcupines.

The Cumbres and Toltec Narrow Gauge Railroad opens for business next weekend, May 24th and the dandelions and the trees are budding out! This is a wonderful time to plan a visit to our hidden gem of Northern New Mexico as Spring has sprung!
